Meet the Founder
Vincent Ciardo
Founder
Having developed an affinity for music synthesizers as a young teenager, Mr. Ciardo became quite curious about electronic circuits- especially oscillators. Out of his curiosity came the desire to study electrical engineering supported by Mr. Ciardo’s natural talent for mathematics. Having later graduated from the Illinois Instituted of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering and a minor on psychology, Mr. Ciardo began a career in electrical engineering which would later span several engineering sub-fields. These sub-fields included at first industrial controls, power distribution, advanced control loop theory and signal processing for instrumentation. Mr. Ciardo then migrated his engineering focus to analog and mixed-signal embedded systems design- hardware, firmware and PCBA layout. Based on his background with digital signal processing, Mr. Ciardo naturally began to gravitate toward firmware development with an emphasis on both power electronics control and ultra-low-power design used in class 3 medical devices. From his very first professional position and throughout his technical career to this point, Mr. Ciardo was always asked to manage projects, including several at once. Mr. Ciardo much preferred engineering work over project management, but would never refuse an assignment when a company required it of him. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Ciardo was asked to manage the engineers contributing to the project portfolio under his leadership. Mr. Ciardo then confided in his manager at the time when he asked why he was drawing the majority of the project management assignments, when ‘project manager’ was not even close to his current title. In response to the question, his manager jokingly said “… it’s because you have unmatched strategic thinking skills in addition to your technical abilities, and this is why the organization really needs you to lead these high priority projects.” This would be the case throughout Mr. Ciardo’s career and ultimately become the primary impetus for the development of an optimized methodology to manage projects in addition to the simultaneous juggling all of his additional organizational priorities. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Ciardo transitioned into management as a hands-on engineering manager- managing a multicultural team and a portfolio of development projects while also acting as lead firmware engineer. Mr. Ciardo then went on to manage product development across a several different industries including medical devices, aerospace and energy. When he became a vice president and was responsible for engineering, quality, regulatory and testing, Mr. Ciardo unleashed what is now know as the µEMS methodology for complex endeavors. µEMS proved to be incredibly efficient, allowing Mr. Ciardo to meet the extreme demands of his position as well as transform the company from a technological perspective within 18 months. By displacing Agile methodology and leveraging µEMS, the development team progressed at a rate three times faster than that of the previous team with one-third of the original personnel. By fusing systems engineering theory and a universal planning technique, Mr. Ciardo has created a methodology that taps the latent power of resource synchronization within an organization- allowing it to achieve unprecedented results. To this day, Mr. Ciardo continues to leverage the µEMS methodology as an executive leader and consultant.
